True Blood – Season 6, Episode 10: “Radioactive”

2

Let me just start off by saying:  Yay!  Sookie and Alcide!  More on that later.

I wish they had shot the first scene of Alcide and Sookie in the cemetery before Joe Manganiello had cut his hair.  That wig he was wearing was awful.  Gotta say, he looks much better with the haircut, it was getting too long.

True Blood Season 6 Finale

Not sure what I think about Violet and Jason.  He was basically forced into the relationship and he just went along with it.  Violet seems to be a good person but she’s a little pushy and possessive.  It was pretty funny when she beaned Jessica with the volleyball.  I totally saw that coming.

Can’t say I was completely surprised by the turn the Warlow story took.  He had already shown how bad he can be by the other things he had done this season.  Killing all the fairies at the club, getting rid of Niall.  He was trying to be good for Sookie but, most likely, it was an act to lure her in.  His death pretty much answered my question about his blood.  I guess, because he was a vampire, the effects of his fairy blood were permanent as long as he was alive.  I was glad to see Niall show up again but didn’t Warlow turn him?  I would’ve thought that might at least be mentioned.

Glad to see Bill somewhat back to normal.  At least he seems to have regained his conscience.

We’re all in agreement that Pam saved Eric, right?  No way the show is getting rid of Alexander Skarsgard.

True Blood: Nerd Eric

SIX MONTHS LATER:

The show needed to do this.  The fast pace that the show moves at means that, with the exception of the year Sookie spent in fairy land, six seasons of this show has happened over about a six month period.  Each season pretty much picks up right where the last left off.

Sam’s the mayor.  That was a fast six months since he didn’t even seem to be thinking of running.  Though, I suppose mayor’s races usually aren’t long, drawn-out affairs.  Did he sell the bar to Arlene because it wouldn’t look good for the mayor to own a bar?

Why is the Hep-V such an epidemic?  Nora was infected and died in a matter of hours.  It’s six months later and now there are roving bands of sick vamps (which reminded me of the walkers on The Walking Dead).  The only possibilities I came up with are A) Nora was injected directly and these vamps have drank the virus diluted through the TruBlood which makes it take longer to kill. or B) Drinking human blood keeps the virus from killing the vamps.

Even though Bill has regained his humanity, he still seems to be kind of full of himself.  Wasn’t there a better way to expose the governor’s Hep-V plan than writing a book?  And what made him think Sookie would take him up on his offer?  After all they’ve been through, she’s obviously going to have issues with trusting him.  Not to mention that it would be pretty disrespectful to Alcide for Sookie to let her ex feed from her.

Aww!  Tara and her mama made up!  I loved that whole scene.  Both ladies did a wonderful job.

When I saw that Sookie and Alcide are a couple now, I literally bounced up and down, clapping and said “Yay!”  I know, most people are Eric fans but I’m all about the Alcide.  While I can appreciate a good-looking blonde, I love dark-headed men.  I’ve always thought Sookie and Alcide had good chemistry and they’ve been in each other’s orbit since Season 3.  I just wish we’d gotten to see the relationship develop.  And, I see comments around the internet about Sookie being a slut but he’s only the fourth guy she’s been with.  It was established that Bill was her first because her telepathy got in the way of dating.  I just hope she doesn’t break Alcide’s heart.  I think there’s some lingering feelings for Bill but she’s sworn off vamps.

Can’t wait for next season!!!

True Blood – Season 6, Episode 9: “Life Matters”

This episode neatly wrapped up most of the major story lines of the season.  The only one left hanging is Warlow and I suspect that’s what most of the season finale will be.

True Blood: Life Matters

Did Eric kill all of those guards by himself?  He drank most of Warlow’s blood which would have made him impervious to the sun but it wouldn’t have made him unkillable like Bill.  Where did he go?  We all know Eric’s not gone for good.  No way the show would get rid of Alexander Skarsgard, he’s the biggest draw for females.  I suspect he’ll go off to get his shit together.  He has a new progeny and I don’t think he’s the type of maker to leave Willa to fend for herself.

I’ve seen a few reviewers who didn’t understand why Bill put Overlark out of his misery.  I get it.  He would have liked to have punished the good doctor himself, but Eric beat him to it.  He still felt the need to inflict violence on him so the did the next best thing by smashing his face in.  While I’m on the subject of Bill, what effect will drinking his blood have on the other vampires?  It was a mixture of Lilith and Warlow’s blood, will they have Bill’s special powers now?  Since Bill was nearly drained dry and re-fed his own blood, will he still have his powers?  Also, did anyone else think there were way more vampires dancing around in the sun than were in the white room to start with?

Random stuff:  Jason should have killed Sarah.  That’s going to come back to bite him in the ass.  I’m kind of pissed they killed Steve.  He was an ass but he was a funny ass.

Finally, Terry’s funeral.  I also read that some people thought his funeral was too long.  Not me, I loved it.  I loved seeing how everyone met Terry.  He was one of the few humans left and his normal death deserved to be treated with respect.  But, when did Caroline Bellefleur become such an obnoxious, racist bitch?  She’s a genteel Southern Lady and would never act in public the way she did at Terry’s funeral.

True Blood – Season 6, Episode 8: “Dead Meat”

True Blood: Dead Meat

I have lots of questions after this episode.

So, suddenly, Alcide‘s not a douche anymore.  He spent seven episodes being the biggest dick in the world and they undid it all by having him kick Rikki’s ass and save Nicole and her mother.  My question is did he kill Rikki?  If he didn’t, how did he just leave with Nicole?  He just said “I’m out and taking them with me.” and the pack just let him go?  Especially when they were so hell-bent on making sure Nicole kept her mouth shut?

Violet/Jason —  How does Gov. Burrell not knowing about Jason and Sarah help her?  Obviously she doesn’t know the Governor is dead, but what’s her angle?  Also, she seems to be a bad-ass but she doesn’t seem to be horrible.  Kind of a female Eric.  Since Violet got sent to the round room with Jess and the rest, what happened to Jason?

So, Warlow hates being a vampire but he wants to turn Sookie?  Have I mentioned this before?  Does Sookie have enough fairy blood that she’d be able to walk in the sun like Warlow?  I assumed that when Bill drank that small amount of Warlow’s blood that something about Lilith’s blood made the day walking effect last longer (possibly permanent).  Eric seems to have drank quite a bit more but how long will the effect last with him?  Is there something about vampire fairy blood that makes it last longer?  Also, why the hell did Sookie leave Warlow tied up when she left the second time?  She obviously untied him when she went to see Arlene (when she went back she gathered more vines) so why not untie him this time?  He might have been able to defend himself against Eric.

Why didn’t Jessica tell James about Jason?  Why are there so many “J” names in this triangle?  When James told Steve about the Tru Blood, shouldn’t the other vampires in the room have been able to hear?

Is Sam’s story line happening in an alternate dimension from the others?  This whole season has only taken place over two weeks and Nicole is already pregnant enough that Sam and Alcide can smell it (Eww!)?  And the Silver Fox (*snort*) loves Nicole?  Luna just died!!!

Why was there a different actress playing Caroline Bellefleur?  Originally, it was Katherine Helmond from Who’s the Boss?  Was she not available?  Did they think we wouldn’t notice?  If I was Arlene, I’d start cleaning house.  She’s Terry’s wife, she should have the final say-so about all his funeral arrangements.

Finally Sarah.  She thinks she’s on her way to gettin’ crazy.  Honey, you’ve already got there and went ’round the corner.  How does she think killing Ms. Suzuki makes her any better than vamps?  It makes her worse.  At least vampires sometimes have to kill for food.

  • “Sorry to take that one away from you…” — Eric

True Blood post is going to be delayed a couple of days.  I need to watch it again before I post about it.  Hubby watched with me again this week but he talked through half of it.  Grr!

The 12th Doctor — I’m not unhappy about the choice of Peter Capaldi.  I remember him from Torchwood and The Fires of  Pompeii.  He’s Scottish.  Friend of Craig Ferguson.  A bit older than I was expecting but he talked about it was such excitement, I can see he’ll bring the youth that’s needed to the role as well.
