Once Upon A Time – Season 3, Episode 5: “Good Form”

I always suspected that Hook was a better guy than he likes to let on.  I don’t understand the way everyone treats him.  Why did David assume Hook had never had a family?  Why did they all assume he’s always been bad?  Most people (especially on this show) didn’t start out that way.  Hook can be a scoundrel sometimes but he does good things most people wouldn’t expect of him.  So, why do they still constantly treat him like crap?  If anyone believed in him, he might become a better person.

Killian Jones seemed to be a decent guy.  He didn’t want to take that poison back to the king. Even though he’d pledged his loyalty to the crown, he didn’t want to be a part of killing their enemies in such a horrible way.  After what happened to his brother, in his mind, (I guess) becoming a pirate was the more honorable profession.  I think being around Emma is bringing Killian back out in Hook.  He could have taken Pan up on his offer and saved himself but he chose to save David instead.  Of course, he did it for Emma but he didn’t have to.  Emma didn’t know David was dying.

What kind of work did Hook do for Pan in the past?

Hook is right, David is a stubborn ass.  Why should Hook have had to trick David into finding the cure for the poison?  Yes, finding Henry is important, but he’s not helping anyone by dying.  Also, Snow and Emma are strong women who can take care of themselves.  David, more than anyone, knows this.  Why does he keep making decisions for them?  They will be furious when they find out and they will find out.  Now that he’s cured and can’t leave the island, he’s going to have to come clean at some point.  He honestly expects that Snow is going to leave Neverland and leave him behind.

Yay!  Hook and Emma!  Will Hook tell Emma that Neal is alive?

Who’s in the cage next to Neal?  Someone we know or a new person?

Once Upon A Time – Season 3, Episode 4: “Nasty Habits”

Why, exactly, has Gold been wandering on his own?  I know he told Neal it was because the others might not be able to do what needs to be done but that doesn’t sound plausible.  Obviously Regina would do anything and I think Emma would too, to protect Henry.  What’s he really up to?

Charming is stupid and selfish.  He needs to tell Snow and Emma about the poison.  Don’t they deserve the chance to tell him goodbye if he’s really going to die?  And what if Tinkerbelle or Regina can think of a cure?

I get the feeling that Pan has been pulling strings for quite a while and not just on the island.  He seems to know an awful lot about everyone.  How did Rumple know Pan when he was a boy?  He wasn’t a Lost Boy, Pan came up with that name after Rumple became the Dark One.

Rumple was willing to die for Henry when he thought  Neal was dead but, now that he’s not, Rumple’s not so sure?  Either way Henry is his grandson, his blood.  What does he think would happen to his relationship with Neal if he kills Henry or lets him die?  Neal would never forgive him and Rumple will have lost his son forever.  I still think they’re interpreting the prophecy incorrectly.

Hook and Bae spent quite a bit of time together in Neverland.  Did Bae know about Hook’s relationship with his mother?  Since Bae was living in that cave, I guess he was never a Lost Boy but he seemed to like Pan when he first met him.  What happened after he got to Neverland?

Henry couldn’t hear the flute at first which meant that he didn’t feel unloved or unwanted.  That seemed to baffle Pan momentarily.  Did it put a snag in his plan?  What did he do to the flute so that Henry could hear it later?  If that’s all it took to get Henry to join the festivities, why hadn’t Pan tried it earlier?

Once Upon A Time – Season 3, Episode 3: “Quite A Common Fairy”

So…the Blue Fairy is kind of a bitch.  If their job as fairies is to help people, why wouldn’t she go along with Tinker Bell‘s plan?  If Regina could be helped, wouldn’t that, in turn, help everyone?  Regina said her husband was still alive so at that point she hadn’t done anything really horrible yet.  If she’d found love and been happy, everything could have been different.  Yeah, in the end, Tink’s plan didn’t work out but maybe it would have if Blue had helped.

Who knew Regina could be a coward?  She was so afraid of finding happiness, she ran away from it.  I don’t understand how she ruined Robin Hood‘s life though.  He fell in love and married, had a son.  Yes, his wife is dead now but he had to have been happy.  I hope that’s something we find out.  Maybe they’ll show how their lives would have turned out if Regina had just gone into the pub.

So, how did Neal get out of Never, Never Land?  In the preview, Pan said no one leaves but obviously that’s not true.  Also, where do Wendy and the Darling boys fit into this timeline?  We saw Bae go with the shadow in their place but did they never go there?

I want to know the back story with Hook and “Lady Bell” as well.  And how did she get to Never, Never Land?  She’s not a fairy and she said Pan trusts her but she doesn’t live with him.

Kids don’t age in Neverland but Henry grew quite a bit over the summer, didn’t he?

I watched Wonderland but I’m not sure yet if I’m going to write about it.  I didn’t care for the actress playing the Red Queen and her scenes pulled me out of the story a bit.  Maybe it’s the way she’s made up (her bun was really tight), but she has a pretty noticeable duck face and didn’t show a lot of emotion.  At least with Regina, you can feel some sympathy for her.  Her mother made her so unhappy, she made horrible choices.  I’m not getting that from this queen.  It was great seeing Naveen Andrews back on TV though.

Once Upon A Time – Season 3, Episode 2: “Lost Girl”

I think Rumple is mis-interpreting the prophecy.  Usually, prophesies are worded to be tricky.  I don’t think Henry will literally be the death of Rumple but of the bad part of him.  Even with Belle, he sometimes struggles between right and wrong.  Henry might be the key to “killing” the Dark One but not Rumple himself.

Sometimes I think the show tries to hard to bring legends into the show.  If they were going to deal with the legend of Excalibur, I’d much rather have seen Merlin and Lancelot.  But, since it was a fake Excalibur, I guess that’s still possible.

Of course Emma considers herself an orphan.  Even if it was unintentional, that’s what she is.  I’ve always thought Snow and Charming were a little pushy with the “We’re all a happy family!” business.  Unlike Henry, Emma has had 28 years to build that wall around her.  Even though I think she understands what happened, that doesn’t just immediately take away those feelings of being abandoned.  That resentment she feels is deep-rooted.  A child can get over that hurt a little easier.

Charming is pretty stupid.  His stubbornness led to him accidentally poisoning himself.  Of course, I’m sure the show won’t let him die.  I kind of wish they would.  Snow is already struggling with that dark place in her heart.  Imagine how much darker it could be.

Once Upon A Time – Season 3, Episode 1: “Heart of the Truest Believer”

Greg and Tamara didn’t last long.  I suspect Greg isn’t actually dead, but in limbo.  His shadow has been separated from his body.  If it could be re-attached, would he be alive?

What does Pan want with Henry?  He said his heart but, from the previews, Henry is still alive so he doesn’t kill him and take his heart. Also, why is he stronger than Rumpelstiltskin?

I didn’t put together that everybody fighting was what was causing the storm.  Really, it seemed to pop up before they all started arguing.

Mermaids are bad, y’all.  Wasn’t that plot point borrowed from the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie?  Does that mean Jack Sparrow can be on the show?  Yes, please!  They’re both Disney after all.  I hear they’re bringing Ariel on this season but she’s not going to be like the other mermaids.

I’m glad Neal isn’t dead.  I like Michael Raymond-James but he keeps getting killed off all the shows I watch.  Maybe they’ll pair him up with Mulan.  I’d like to see more of her, Aurora and Prince Phillip.  I don’t think Neal and Emma have very good chemisty.  I’d rather see her with August but since he’s a little kid now (hopefully that can be reversed), I think she has better chemistry with Hook.

I hope next week we’ll get to see what’s going on in Storybrooke.
